November Volunteer Highlight Anne Pourakis Alexandrou
Cold Spring Harbor, New York
This month's Volunteer Highlight goes to Anne Pourakis Alexandrou of Cold Spring Harbor, New York. On November 1, Anne ran the NYC marathon where she raced to raise funds for IOCC. Through participating in the Clergy Laity Conference in Washington, DC and seeing the video of the tragic fires in Greece, Anne become inspired to become involved with IOCC. "Through hard work, commitment, and dedication that I have experienced in the last 5 months of training for the NYC marathon, IOCC exhibits the same dedication and commitment every single day of every single year!" says Anne. After the NYC Marathon, Anne plans to continue to work as the GOYA advisor in her parish to continue IOCC awareness and fundraising efforts with youth. "They are the next generation and by increasing their awareness they are empowered to make "the difference" in our future", says Anne.
