My mother and I wrapped a present today. It is for a mom that doesn’t have the things she needs for her baby. Into it we put diapers, cloth diapers because the mom can use them over and over and over again without having to throw then out. And we put in cute little clothes like “snugglers.” There was also this very soft yellow blanket for wrapping the baby in, and some other things that were on the list. We choose yellow and green for colors so that they can be used for a baby girl or boy. We wrapped it all up in another blanket like a present, put it in a box and mailed it to International Orthodox Christian Charities for them to send to the mom that needs it. Before we wrapped it up we prayed over it. We prayed for the mom and the baby that would get our gift. We choose to do this project because my mom is a doula and breastfeeding counselor. She helps moms with feeding and taking care of their new babies. So when she gets paid she takes some her money as tithe and buys the things for the baby kits so that we can keep helping other moms, in other countries. It made me feel happy to do this because it was a good and right thing to do; I think it made God happy to see us do it too.
