2007 STUDY TRIP ITINERARY
Jerusalem and the West Bank
SUN, 11 FEB — Arrive in Baltimore (optional – at extra cost)
Individual arrivals in Baltimore by evening, hotel on own arranged by IOCC. We have negotiated a special rate of $114 with the Sheraton Baltimore North Hotel in Towson. Please call them, toll fee, to make a reservation at: 1-888-627-7147 before Jan 11 and identify yourself as a member of the “IOCC Study Trip” for the special rate. MON, 12 FEB — Depart USA
Join the group for a mandatory morning orientation at IOCC HQ in Towson, MD at 10:30 am followed by lunch and transfer to airport. Depart Washington/Dulles at 5:50 pm for your overnight flight to Tel Aviv via Lufthansa Airlines.

TUE, 13 FEB — Arrive Tel Aviv/Jerusalem
Upon arrival in Tel Aviv, transfer to the Notre Dame Hotel in Jerusalem. Enjoy some time to relax and freshen up before transferring to the Jerusalem office of IOCC for an orientation and light dinner with staff members.

WED, 14 FEB — Field Visits/Jerusalem Area
Depart for Ramallah area this morning to visit Orthodox Patriarchal School and the Community Center at At-Tayba as well as other schools. Lunch at the Orthodox Club in Ramallah. Return to Jerusalem for dinner at the hotel followed by an evening meeting with Christian members of Parliament.

THU, 15 FEB — Field Visits/Jerusalem Area
Depart for the Jenin area, and the villages of Rummana, Kufur Dan (where we will lunch), and Zbuba. Return to Jerusalem for dinner at a local restaurant and overnight.

FRI, 16 FEB — Field Visits/Jerusalem Sightseeing
Today is filled with many sites and visits in the city of Jerusalem. Depart on foot to the Patriarchate and an audience with the Patriarch as well as a visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Visit St. Dimitri School and the Medical Center and projects of Arab Orthodox Society. Enjoy lunch at Bint-Al-Balad followed by a visit to the orphanage Jeel Al-Amal. Continue to Bethany Lazarus Church, the Church of Gethsemane, the Virgin Mary’s Tomb, and the Mount of Olives. Return to the hotel for dinner. Meet with local heads of Orthodox societies this evening.

SAT, 17 FEB — Bethlehem/Jerusalem
This morning you have the option to either visit the local markets in the Old City of Jerusalem, or attend Divine Liturgy in the Old City. Transfer to Bethlehem for a visit to the Church of the Nativity, built over the cave-stable where tradition says Jesus was born. Stop at Mar Elias Monastery en route. Also visit Hope School, which teaches peace and democracy. Lunch in Bethlehem . Continue to Beit Sahour and visit Shepherd’s Field and Mar Saba Monastery. Enjoy dinner at Philadelphia Restaurant, and then return to the hotel for overnight.

SUN, 18 FEB — Nazareth/Jerusalem
Depart early this morning to Nazareth for Divine Liturgy. Breakfast will be served after Divine Liturgy in Nazareth prior to visiting IOCC projects in the area. Travel to Capernaum and Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee and have lunch by the Sea. Transfer for dinner to the Christmas Hotel. Return to Jerusalem for overnight.

MON, 19 FEB — Jerusalem
The morning is at your leisure for shopping in the Old City, or personal activities. Join the group for a visit to the Melia shop, which specializes in Palestinian handicrafts, and lunch with IOCC Staff. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

TUE, 20 FEB — Return USA
Early morning transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for your homebound flight to Dulles International Airport. Arrive home at 3:40 pm the same day and transfer to your homeward flights
