Director of Programs
George Antoun works closely with the Executive Director & CEO, the Board’s Programs Committee, and the Executive Team. He is responsible for acting as a spokesperson for IOCC, interfacing and building relationships with key stakeholders and leads the conceptualization, design, development, management, and implementation of innovative, integrated, and high-quality evidence-based strategies and programs. Throughout his career, George worked with US, UK, Canadian, and various European government and non-government donors in addition to several UN agencies and private Foundations.
George joined IOCC in 1995 for the position of Country Director in the Republic of Georgia, and over the next consecutive 18 years, he established and managed IOCC country programs in Russia, Ethiopia, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, and Syria. After some time away from IOCC working for other International NGOs, George returned in July 2022 to lead IOCC’s Ukraine Response effort. In May 2024, George accepted the Director of Programs position.
George holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology & Chemistry and a Master’s degree in Public Health / Health Services Administration from the American University of Beirut.
