Play an active and important role in IOCC’s mission by generating support at the parish level.

Become a parish representative

Parish Representatives play a key role in generating support and raising awareness for the organization’s humanitarian work around the world. Parish Representatives can devote as much or as little time as possible to help spread the word—a few minutes a month can make a difference.

Metropolitan Committees are dedicated groups of volunteers in major cities across the U.S. that help raise awareness for IOCC through fundraising events. From the founding of IOCC in 1992, these volunteer led committees have provided invaluable grassroots support in advancing the organizations humanitarian mission. Contact us to learn whether there’s a group of pan-Orthodox IOCC volunteers already active in your area.

Ask your priest if you can create a display in your narthex and designate a section of the bulletin or newsletter to IOCC news. Download or request materials here.

Show one of our videos, create a display table, or give a brief talk. Share what you love about IOCC’s work in a special presentation. To request an IOCC speaker, please contact us. If you are interested in planning a larger fundraising event, click here.

Meet with your Sunday School and youth directors to brainstorm ways for young people to engage with IOCC’s humanitarian work. Children of all ages can assemble emergency kits, celebrate IOCC Sunday, #GivingTuesday, or the Souper Bowl of Caring. Young people can even set up their own fun fundraising events—anything from car washes to spaghetti dinners!

IOCC uses social media, emails, and mail to reach the Orthodox faithful. Help us reach more people by creating a sign-up sheet for more information at your parish and share our social media pages to help spread the word about our work!
