10/7/2024 — Emergency Response Update for Hurricane Helene:
As residents in the southeastern US continue to grapple with the terrible devastation wrought by Hurricane Helene, responders have moved in to address urgent needs and assess damage. IOCC has joined in this response, coordinating with other response organizations, deploying its field staff to conduct needs assessments, and gathering resources for those in need. As part of our efforts, Frontliners have also begun making Care Calls to parishes, to offer emotional support and gather information directly from those affected by the storm. As Hurricane Helene makes landfall in the southeastern US, millions are being impacted by the storm’s devastation.
