Syria: Campaign to Expand Vocational Training

May 24, 2023

IOCC’s popular vocational training program in Damascus is helping earthquake survivors and others in need gain the skills they need for in-demand careers in a challenging economy.

After more than a decade of conflict, millions are unemployed and facing poverty in Syria. To help earthquake survivors who have relocated to Damascus, along with other Syrians in need, IOCC is excited to announce a campaign to raise $200,000—starting with a lead gift of $60,000 from the Orthodox Vision Foundation. This support will expand IOCC’s vocational training program in Damascus for women, young adults, and earthquake survivors. With an 80% satisfaction rate among newly graduated students in April 2023, the program is popular, and the waitlist is growing.

You’re invited to help people improve their employment prospects with a gift before May 31. Visit iocc.org/ovfsyria, and share with those in your network who want to make an impact today.
