Together We Can Weather This Storm
Today I had a conversation with a colleague about experiences I’ve had that have helped me learn about myself and how to cope with dangerous situations, solitude, and uncertainty. It brought back many memories. It reminded me of a message I received from IOCC’s first Executive Director, Alexander Rondos, in 1994 as I prepared to go into Bosnia: “These are the times when IOCC—its mission and the mettle of its staff—are most tested.”
Each of us has a responsibility to our families, friends, the people we serve, and ourselves to do everything we can to not only survive during times like these but to thrive.
We’re so grateful for your support in this difficult time. Through prayer, self-care, faith, and love, we’ll come through this trial together.
As IOCC evaluates our response, we want to remind you of the prayer services, Lenten reflections, messages from hierarchs, and emotional care resources that we have available for your encouragement. Those can all be found here.
As communities around the world try and figure out their new normal, IOCC is committed to protecting the people we serve and to supporting our community of donors through these difficult times.
Last week you met our matching challenge and donated over $5,000. Thank you.
Today, a NEW $10,000 match is in place to support IOCC’s continued global work. Your gifts today will double the impact at home and abroad.
We fervently pray for your peace, comfort, and health. We will get through this together.
Yours in Christ,
Dean
