IOCC’s US Program hosted a luncheon at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Houston to thank the community for their incredible hospitality to IOCC.
Since Hurricane Harvey hit in 2017, St. George’s has hosted 20 IOCC home build teams, plus emergency action and emotional/spiritual care teams—offering a comfortable home base during deployment. Cleburne’s Cafeteria, right across the street from the parish, has generously fed many IOCC volunteers while they were staying at the parish.
In recognition of this community’s unflagging support over many years, IOCC Executive Director & CEO Dean Triantafilou presented St. George and Cleburne’s Cafeteria owner George Mickelis with Good Samaritan Awards.
