Sowing Seeds of Hope

He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food
will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase
the harvest of your righteousness. —2 Cor 9:10

Let’s Serve and Pray Together

The Orthodox Church teaches that every single person carries the image of God. So no matter who someone is or what kind of help they need (food, water, someone to listen, etc.), we offer it because God loves people, whom He made in His image—and because He asks us to help one another.

The stories in the 2022 IOCC Prayer Journal show a few ways we can sow “seeds of hope” by helping people around the world through IOCC. In St. Paul’s Second Letter to the Corinthians, we read that our generosity to others glorifies God. As you use this booklet, please pray for the people in the stories and those helping them by doing humanitarian work every day.

Each chapter ends with activities you can do with your family or Sunday School class to think a bit more about how God works through us as we help others.

Thank you for your prayers—they connect us all in service to Christ.
