Assemble Hygiene Kits for Those In Need

Put together a small assistance package and make a big difference. Basic materials such as soap, shampoo, paper and pencils seem small, but make a huge difference in an ongoing development program or when disaster strikes.

Our Hygiene and School Kits are among the items most requested by our partners each year. The need is great, and we can never have too many on hand.

Please carefully follow the instructions below (Download packing list):

Step 1

Buy a one-gallon plastic bag with a zipper closure and fill it with the following items:

• One washcloth
• One fingernail or toenail clipper (either is acceptable; remove from package)
• One bath-size bar of soap (in the original package)
• One travel-size stick deodorant (3.4 ounces or less, non-aerosol)
• One travel-size lotion (3.4 ounces or less, fragrance-free, NEW only)
• One travel-size shampoo (3.4 ounces or less, NEW only)
• One toothbrush (in the original package)
• One travel-size toothpaste (3.4 ounces or less, with an expiration date of at least 1 years)
• One sturdy wide-tooth comb (remove from package; must have at least 6 inches of teeth; pocket combs or picks not accepted; rattail combs and combs without handles are acceptable)

Step 2

Secure kits in a box and download the IOCC Emergency Kits Return Shipping Label to fill out and include on the outside of each one.

Step 3

Kits and buckets can be sent to our warehouse in New Windsor, MD or dropped off at Church World Service depots around the country. Please see the link below for a list of depots by state.

It will cost about $2-$3 per kit to cover the cost of shipping to the warehouse. Mail all kits to:
