The Lenten season is a great time to think about scheduling a fast-friendly reception or presentation to capture the spirit of almsgiving. We’d love to send a speaker to your parish or event; please let us know what you’re planning, so we can make travel arrangements well ahead of time. Souper Bowl of Caring
Souper Bowl Sunday is around the corner! February 4 is the big game, and with it comes a chance to make a meaningful difference. Organize a collection in your parish: donate canned goods to a local soup kitchen to help your community, and send funds collected to IOCC to help your world. Volunteers Needed in 2018
Several dates are now posted online for our 2018 Orthodox Action Team builds. We are recruiting volunteers for critical home repairs and home builds in St. Augustine, Florida for February and March to help support long-term recovery after disasters. Represent TEAM IOCC in Your City’s 5K
Check to see if your city will have an annual walk, run, or marathon this year, and consider leading a team for IOCC. Register and publicize your event early to recruit athletes without a team to your cause. Check out one of our upcoming races here to see what your team’s page could look like. Baltimore, MD
On January 27, the youth of St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church held a hygiene kit assembly as part of their teen retreat. About 20 participants listened to a brief presentation about IOCC’s work around the world, and put together hygiene kits to assist those in need. Thanks to these parishioners for starting the year off strong with their service!
Kansasville, WI and Bolivar, PA
The campus ministry Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF) held its annual college conference in December, providing students with a midyear break to relax and meet new people, as well as to learn a bit about IOCC. Thanks to 2017 College Conference Midwest and East for helping share IOCC at the conference!
