IOCC Volunteer Update | July 2019

July 30, 2019

Here’s What YOU Did in 2018

IOCC’s humanitarian and development work continues because YOU are committed to it. That dedication to serving people in need is what you see in the pages of our Year in Review. Its impact is what you see on the faces of those we serve.

Your support addresses fundamental human needs: food, water, shelter, access to basic medical services, a chance to earn a living, and so much more.

Visit our Year in Review and learn more about the impact YOU made in 2018!

Antiochian Orthodox Convention Update

It was great seeing everyone who stopped by our booth at the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese Convention! Thanks for your support in making IOCC’s work possible for the last 27 years.

Stay Prepared Ahead of the Next Disaster

Every second counts in an emergency. That’s why it’s crucial to have a game plan your whole family and parish is comfortable with. This National Preparedness Month, IOCC is encouraging you to develop an emergency action plan. Get started today with our easy guides.

Volunteer for an Upcoming Home Build

There are still volunteer opportunities to support long-term recovery projects after disasters in the US! Communities affected by these catastrophes often face great need long after the crisis has ended, and we need volunteers to help repair and rebuild homes (no skills required!). Current opportunities:

  • August 12-17: Houston, TX
  • August 19-24: Houston, TX (18+ only)

Please visit iocc.org/homebuild to read more and apply.

IOCC Awareness Events

Thank you to the IOCC volunteers across the country who support our mission every day!

ANN ARBOR, MI

The Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Philoptochos offered their Annual IOCC International Coffee Hour on June 16. This fundraiser for IOCC reminds everyone that IOCC reaches out across the world in many different places where there is a need. It is also a celebration of their church’s diversity, as parishioners from various backgrounds bring traditional ethnic foods to share. Thank you to Perry Katsikas, the St. Nicholas Philoptochos, and the entire parish for your generous support each year!
