IOCC believes the most effective and efficient way to address global disasters and poverty is by collaborating with Orthodox Christian and ecumenical partners, as well as private, public and civil society organizations.

IOCC, guided by its mission works in support of the social service capacity of the Orthodox Church worldwide and promotes collaboration between Orthodox Christian social service agencies worldwide.

IOCC is a member of the ACT Alliance, a global coalition of churches and relief agencies engaged in development, humanitarian assistance and advocacy, and InterAction a coalition of U.S. based non-governmental organizations that carry out humanitarian assistance programs overseas.
