Thanks to generous donors like you, IOCC was prepared to respond quickly when devastating earthquakes struck Syria and Turkey in February 2023.

This tragic natural disaster took the lives of tens of thousands of men, women, and children. It also destroyed vital infrastructure and resources, including hospitals.

IOCC has worked in Syria since 2002 and has built strong local partnerships. IOCC leveraged those relationships to quickly help survivors in the disaster’s early days—meeting urgent needs like bedding, hygiene supplies, food, shelter, and medical/psychosocial care. IOCC also worked with local aid organizations in Turkey to provide grocery vouchers so survivors could purchase exactly what they needed and when.
