Your Impact This Year and Next
You reached around the world with Christ’s love in 2022. Thank you for your continued support of IOCC’s mission of service. Here’s some of the change you’ve made possible this year:
- To combat the effects of drought and desert locusts, 614 Ethiopian households each received cash support, while 413 households in six locust-affected communities received crop and vegetable seeds.
- Training in the country of Georgia highlighting COVID-19 risks and mitigation reached over 640 Azeri, Armenian, and Orthodox Christian religious and community leaders.
- In Greece, IOCC provided 26 machines to 15 microbusinesses; 9 of those also received mentoring to grow their businesses’ productivity and income.
- In Syria, more than 6,400 people in need and their families received comprehensive psychosocial care—such as counseling for children and workshops for parents and caregivers—to improve their emotional well-being and enhance resilience amid prolonged conflict.
- IOCC supported primary schools in two Kosovo villages, serving 128 students, replacing damaged flooring, electrical wiring and lighting, and recreational facilities.
- In Romania, IOCC has supported eight antitrafficking trainings for clergy and social workers, preparing almost 200 people to recognize the signs of human trafficking as they work with refugees from Ukraine—and to help vulnerable people get the help they need.
- Providing emotional and spiritual care in the US, 9 Frontliners responded after tornadoes in Ft. Myers, Florida; flooding in eastern Kentucky; and Hurricane Ian in Florida. Frontliners also made Care Calls to parishes across the region affected by Hurricane Ian.
- In Montenegro, IOCC support is expanding a Church agricultural facility that in turn provides produce and income for an Orthodox Church humanitarian kitchen that serves over 450 cooked meals per day to people in great need.
