Nour (not her real name), a 38-year-old mother, lives in a bustling neighborhood of Beirut with her husband and two children. Located in this neighborhood is Al-Islah, a medical center, where Nour and her family frequently receive healthcare services. IOCC supports the Al-Islah center by offering training and operational support to staff, as well as sustainable energy upgrades (including a new solar power system) to help reduce costs.
Given the ongoing socioeconomic crisis in Lebanon and her family’s limited means, Nour brings her children to the medical center for vaccinations and pediatric consultations. And not only this, Al-Islah medical center helped save her husband’s life.
In 2024, Nour’s husband, Hamza (not his real name), experienced severe chest pain and was rushed to Al-Islah. The cardiologist quickly performed an electrocardiogram and discovered that Hamza was having a heart attack. He was then rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery and treatment. “I would have lost my husband if it wasn’t for the healthcare center,” Nour said with gratitude.
