On the Ground in Ian’s Wake

October 7, 2022

As communities affected by Ian begin the long road to recovery, IOCC is deploying Frontliners to provide emotional and spiritual care for survivors, and coordinating with partners to meet immediate needs.

Hope and Help after Disaster

As emergency crews clear areas for aid work to begin, IOCC is putting Frontliners on the ground to provide emotional and spiritual care. They are embedded with teams from our disaster-response partner Inspiritus in communities dealing with Ian’s aftermath.

Here’s what else IOCC is doing as cleanup gets underway:

  • Coordinating with Orthodox parishes across the area affected by Ian, and with multiple partners in disaster response.
  • Assigning Frontliners to place Care Calls to Orthodox parishes in the impacted area, providing emotional support and assessing additional needs.
  • Working with partners to deliver cleanup buckets to Lee County, Florida. (Want to assemble buckets? The warehouse always needs more stock.)

You can help today—and in the weeks to come—with a gift to IOCC’s US Hurricane Response Fund. Thank you for serving our neighbors in this time of incredible need.
