In Romania, a Ukrainian refugee who received grocery vouchers as part of IOCC’s response not only expressed her thanks but also showed her gratitude by helping, in turn, other refugees like her. “We prayed like we had probably never prayed before in our lives,” said Alyona, who fled Ukraine with her family. She was describing the fear she and her children felt as they and thousands of others stood in line for half a day, waiting to cross from Ukraine into Romania. Read more about Alyona’s story.
