Marketing Manager

The Marketing Manager is primarily responsible for the development and oversight of marketing collateral that provides prospective and current partners and donors with value-added information on IOCC’s work, programs, and approaches to increase engagement and donations.

Position Summary and Purpose

The Marketing Manager is primarily responsible for the development and oversight of marketing collateral that provides prospective and current partners and donors with value-added information on IOCC’s work, programs, and approaches to increase engagement and donations. Collaborates with Communications team to source marketing content and creative and manages external marketing resources. This position is responsible for revenue goals.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  1. Marketing Strategy Development and Execution: Contribute to the creation of effective and comprehensive marketing strategy to communicate to the right audiences at the right time to maximize engagement and minimize donor fatigue; contribute to annual work plans for the organization, including revenue targets; execute the marketing strategy, following the annual editorial calendar, to reach target audiences to take action to meet institutional marketing goals; create workflows, including approvals, for all marketing activities; occasional travel to execute marketing priorities.
  2. Direct Mail Marketing: Collaborate with internal and external teams to manage all aspects of direct mail from creating the project brief and finalizing theme/focus to copywriting, proofing, design, production, and list management.
  3. Email Marketing: Collaborate with internal and external teams to manage all aspects of email campaigns, including fundraising/marketing emails, like welcome series, thank you email, etc.; stewarding all from creating the project brief and finalizing theme/focus to copywriting, proofing, design, deployment, and list segmentation within email clients.
  4. Social Media/SEO/Paid Media Marketing: Collaborate with internal and external teams to manage all aspects of social media fundraising campaigns from creating the project brief and finalizing theme/focus to copywriting, proofing, design, and reach strategies.
  5. Reporting: Develop, track, and analyze all marketing activities and results, and provide insights and recommendations for existing and new strategies to improve results.
  6. Archiving of Marketing Collateral: Format, organize, tag and maintain all marketing collateral in the digital and print archive.
  7. Vendor Management: Manage consultants and vendors’ activities and product delivery; set work priorities to meet institutional marketing goals.

Minimally Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Marketing, Communications Principles and Brand Strategy skills: Mastery of knowledge of applying standards, guidelines and best practices to marketing and communications efforts; skilled at creating, executing and sustaining effective enterprise-wide brand strategies; s killed at visual and design efforts; knowledge of the design process and of print production.
  • Editing and Writing Skills: Adept at content for various audiences and communication materials; ability to create compelling content from raw materials; ability to proofread and edit other people’s writing and produce copy meeting brand standards and messaging for key audiences.
  • Communication Skills: Proven ability to write and speak using the English language (native fluency); advanced oral and written communication skills using different forms of media; ability to translate complex concepts to individuals at all levels; mastery of knowledge of online and new media communication tools; Influence using diplomacy with key stakeholders; demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Software Applications: Mastery of knowledge of software applications for web-based solutions, CRM databases, social media platforms, and apps; mastery of knowledge of Microsoft products, including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
  • Analysis and Sound Judgement: Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills; ability to make sound judgments; ability to improve processes, promote excellence and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive work-related issues.
  • Organization, Project Planning and Multi-tasking: Advanced organizational and planning skills, project planning and management skills; ability to plan and manage cross-functional initiatives; proven ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task with minimal supervision; proven ability to coordinate activities.
  • Self-Management and Teamwork: Ability to work independently or as a member of the team; ability to be detailed-oriented and consistently accurate; ability to manage stress effectively in a fast-paced environment, and ability to quickly learn new systems, processes and procedures and adapt local practices to global standards.

Minimally Required Education, Experience, and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Communication, Marketing, or related field
  • 5 year’s work experience in Marketing in a professional environment
  • Or, a combination of education and professional work experience that yields the minimally required knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above
  • Project management and robust vendor management experience required
  • Work experience with a multinational organization, NGO, faith-based or similar non-profit organization, knowledge of Orthodox church and hierarchy preferred

Physical Requirements and Working Environment

  • Travel required: (at least 20%)
  • Uses cellular and desk phone, laptop or desktop computer; dexterity to operate office equipment; standard office environment; mostly sedentary position. Sits talking on the phone for long periods of time
  • May require bending, kneeling, crawling, standing, sitting, lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Infrequent weekend and evening work may be required

Location

This is a remote position*, open to US residents only.
*If the selected candidate is based in the Baltimore area, a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office) is required.

Salary range $75k – $80k per year
