IOCC’s Code+Create program, a concept developed by Finn Church Aid in 2017, is now implemented in partnership with GFOSS in the center of Athens, Greece. The courses—offered at no charge—teach tech skills to Greeks and foreigners alike, also providing opportunities for social integration and learning across cultures.

Courses in computer coding, web design, robotics, and more help ensure that young adults gain the foundational digital skills that are so important in today’s world, whether for work or for study. In addition, Code+Create fosters “an inspiring learning environment where youth are encouraged to learn, connect and problem solve” (GFOSS).

The endeavor has been well received, with positive feedback coming from participants. “Everything is well-organised, teachers are very nice and make everything seem easier than it is,” wrote one student. “I don’t know any better place in Athens … for people who are 18–30 and interested in these topics,” wrote another. “I feel lucky to be part of [it.] Thanks for everything,” she concluded.
