“My Dream Is Coming True”

March 16, 2020

Can you imagine putting in the effort to get your bachelor’s degree only to have a difficult time finding work post-graduation?

This is the reality for Nour, 23, who has tried again and again to find a reliable source of income in her native Gaza. After two years, Nour and her husband decided to launch their own graphic design business.

Nour started designing, launched a social media presence, and had some clients. But building her business was more challenging than she’d imagined because she felt she needed more technical skills.

Nour called it a “gate of hope” when she first learned about an IOCC vocational training center in her area. She immediately registered for classes.

Thanks to this IOCC partnership with Peace Winds Japan, and with support from the Japan Platform, we’re providing professional training in graphic design and multimedia. Nour and others are developing skills for the future.

“This program has significantly improved my ability and allowed me to develop my business,” said Nour.

Since starting her training, Nour has increased her social media following and the number of clients she’s able to serve, and is finally able to dream of the future.

Can we count on you to make a gift this Lenten season so we can continue helping people like Nour make their dreams reality?
