A Community Approach to Recovery

For 35 years, Endawok, an Ethiopian merchant, has fought podoconiosis—a debilitating disease that is widespread in Ethiopia.

Marked by severe swelling of the feet and crippling bouts of pain, it can leave patients unable to move—dramatically affecting their ability to work. Fortunately for Endawok and over 65,000 other Ethiopians, a long-running IOCC program provides treatment and prevention education.
