IOCC Sunday

On this day, we celebrate IOCC’s global work and the ways you sustain it: providing food, water, shelter, medicine, economic opportunity, and disaster response at home and abroad.

Each year, the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America sets aside the Sunday before Thanksgiving to highlight humanitarian relief. Through IOCC’s ministry, Orthodox faithful across the US are serving people in need.

This is your chance to share IOCC’s work—a ministry that represents every Orthodox priest and every Orthodox Christian in the United States today.

Ways to Take Action

Encourage Your Parish to Participate: Talk with your priest about the IOCC Sunday Encyclical (available soon) from the Assembly of Bishops, include materials in the Sunday bulletin, or take a special collection for IOCC.

Get Youth Involved: Organize an emergency kit drive and arrange for the young people in your parish to help assemble them (iocc.org/kits).

Use IOCC’s Prayer Journal (iocc.org/prayerjournal) in Sunday School lessons prior to and on IOCC Sunday.

Host an IOCC Fundraiser! Check out iocc.org/DIY for ideas or call our Outreach team today.

Set Up an Information Table: An IOCC information table in your parish narthex or hall is a great way to show your continued support. Contact an Outreach Coordinator (410.243.9820; outreach@iocc.org) to request items like posters, prayer booklets, brochures, icon cards, and magnets.
