Are You Ready for a Disaster?
Part of IOCC’s work in the US is helping communities prepare BEFORE disaster strikes. September is National Preparedness Month in the US, and it’s the peak of the Atlantic hurricane season. All of us here at IOCC encourage you and your family to review your emergency plans and make sure you’re prepared.
If you need help getting started, check out our emergency supplies checklist and planning template. These practical resources can help you, your family, and your parish get ready. Visit iocc.org/getprepared to check out all our tools.
Once you’ve put a plan in place, be sure to practice with everyone in your household. Remember to include the kids!
Preparing before an emergency hits can help families and communities build resilience. Disasters don’t plan ahead, but you can.
